BEATNIKS FOR OBAMA

Even though the Beatnik is closed for the summer we are planning on hosting events when possible in support of the Obama 08 campaign. If you are interested in putting anything on to support the Obama campaign (or other related candidates) please let me know. We will not be able to serve food/drinks etc. while we are closed (we are replacing equipment etc.) but the location can still work well as a meeting place.

Why I support Barack Obama: For me, Barack Obama represents not only the most exciting and compelling character to show up on the American political landscape, his campaign methods also embody fundamental change in the process by which our leaders are chosen. Either of these qualities would be enough to inspire my admiration and support, but together they represent the realistic opportunity for wholesale changes in the American political system that has been a desert of apathy and futility.
