We have created a group inside the structure of the Obama 08 campaign. If you would like to get involved click on the link above and join the group in order to be kept informed of events and activities we will be hosting.

I have witnessed a growing crisis in this country over the last twenty years, embodied by a complete lack of personal responsibility in many social contexts. When I say personal social responsibility, I am talking about a special kind of integrity and willingness to stand up for what you believe in, that seems to have gone out of style. When I say there is a crisis, I am talking about the wholesale surpassing of what an individual believes to be right and worth standing up for with what an individual believes to be seen as acceptable to get involved in; the vacuum of irresponsibility and the abyss of apathy this creates.

Even though the Beatnik is closed for the summer we are planning on hosting events when possible in support of the Obama 08 campaign. If you are interested in putting anything on to support the Obama campaign (or other related candidates) please let me know. We will not be able to serve food/drinks etc. while we are closed (we are replacing equipment etc.) but the location can still work well as a meeting place.

We are streaming on and off from the Oasis stage. We are having some technical issues with the laptop we are streaming with so it is coming and going. If your lucky you might be able to catch a set here or there. Better luck next year.

Sorry if you were having any issues looking at the site today. I am finishing off the move and the database import has been a royal PITA. I think I have it down now but let me know if anything acts strange.

We are doing some upgrades to the web servers here at FlashByte. The beatnik site might act a little strange as the updates to the DNS go through across the network. Whatever content you put in will be fine (there is only one copy of the site), just you may not be able to access it or the images may come and go as the DNS updates get themselves worked out. This should all be back to normal in 24-48 hours.
